Kate Allwright (nee Gillman) ("Kathy") : Matopos 1980-1986;  School Prefect 1985 & 86, Academic colours 1984, Toastmasters Award 1985;  Left Bulawayo in 1987 to attend university at UCT. Graduated 1994 with Master of Arts, English Literature. Moved into the publishing world, and worked as Assistant Editor on a "business-to-business" publication for the South African clothing and textile industry. Married Mark Allwright in 1998 and became a full-time mom to Matthew, born in January 2000. We emigrated to Vancouver, Canada, in May 2001 and have started our new life here. Shirley Andrews
(nee Needham) ( Bunny) :  Townsend 1960-1964; I'm another spectacular non-achiever ! We were the first year to do 'O' Level rather than Cambridge. I did pass that, started A Level, then moved to Sinoia High and did M Level instead. Is anyone in contact with Jill Welsh ? She was in my class. I know they moved to Zambia, when it was Northern Rhodesia;  Career? Lab technician, secretary, now I'm a Statistics Officer and drive SAS software. I'm looking forward to retirement so I have more time for the things I want to do. Sports? Never much good at that, except horse-riding. Married Graham Lloyd and we had a daughter Janis who is now 24 and gets married next year. I am now married to Jeff.  Australia.

Lynette Barrowman (nee Meeser) : Matopos 1969-1972; Worked for Bulawayo Service Station for 10 years. Married Alan Bryant had two children a son aged 19 and daughter aged 17. Shelagh Bolton (nee Bradley) : Carnegie 1964-1969; I was classroom captain throughout my schooling at Townsend. Played all the sports I could except for Swimming; After leaving school I went to live in London for 18 months with my twin sister Karen. On our return my sister got married and I left Rhodesia and came to live in SA ( Durban). This is were I met my husband Del Bolton. We have been married for 21 years. Christine Broughton (nee Gilmour) : Matopos 1966-1970; School Swimming Team, House Vice Captain ??. O Level and M Level; Living in Brisbane Australia. Accountant - P A with Accountancy Firm - Married - three grown up children - 26 24 20 - all boys - two lawyers and one still studying - became a grandmother this year (2001) - little girl. Having a wonderful life. Enjoy socializing and travel. Did trip to SA and Zim in June 1999. Would love to get hold of a copy of the school magazine for the year 1965 - my O level year. Australia. Pam Buchanan (nee Campbell) : Zimbabwe 1965- 1969; Went to Rhodes University. Then onto Harare and married in 1974 to Chris Amira. Divorced then remarried to Peter Buchanan in 1984. Moved to Durban and then to Edinburgh Scotland in 1987. No children. Working in PR in the heritage, Scottish tourism industries. Sister Jill (ex Townsend/Milton, left 1964) also living in Mull of Kintyre, Scotland. She has 2 sons. Both of us have fond memories of 'those' days !! Jill Bullock : Vumba 1965-1971; Prefect, vice House Captain, gym team, colours for hockey. Completed 'M' level; Joined BSA Police, continued playing hockey (O.M's) & basketball, played for Matabeleland. Got married in 1975, travelled Europe and USA. Left Byo in 1982 & settled in Durban. Had my daughter Robyn in Durban. Joined Price Forbes Insurance Brokers in 1983 (now Alexander Forbes) - manager for our sales teams in KZN & corporate clients personal insurances. Divorced in 1987. Added Dec 2003 Sally Doucette (nee Wall) : Townsend 1976-1982;  Left Zimbabwe in 1986 when I married my American husband. We both work for the US Embassy and have been all over the world. Currently in Mexico City and hope to return to Asia for our next assignment. We have two children, Natalie born in 1997 and Michael born in 1999. Lesley Fraser (nee Magwood) : Inyanga 1970-1974; O Levels, M levels, Oh dear! Nothing else; I am an established artist here in Kloof,  SA, painting in oils and drawing in pastels, pencil and charcoal. I also draw onto ceramics. Sandra Ferros (nee Ashton) ( Sandy) : Zimbabwe 1960-1964; Joined Barclays Bank Abercorn Street and worked there until 1969 moved to Barclays Bank in Salisbury. Beryl-Jane Henderson (nee Gillespie) (B-J) : Zimbabwe 1976-1981; Loved sports - swimming and hockey especially. Also played netball and tennis. Games captain - 1980, Deputy Head Girl - 1981. Always participated in school plays, organising dances etc.; Went to Cape Town university - BSc (Mech Eng) 1985; MBA 1991 - class Gold Medallist. Married Rob Henderson, met at university. Son of a Mashonaland tobacco farmer. Rob and I travelled the world for a year or so, did our MBAs fulltime together, then settled in Vancouver, Canada in 1994. Ronda Lowrie (nee Lovemore) : Townsend 1958-1962; Spectacular non-achiever, but winner of school trophy for piano five years running, sharing with Jane Barrett on two or three occasions. And 4 distinctions for Cambridge S.C.; Worked at Barclays Bank Jameson Avenue, Harare, then Scotfin Bank. Married in 1972 and have two daughters, Sian (1973) and Erin (1974) both still single. Moved to Johannesburg in 1984 from Harare, but visit Zimbabwe often as we love and miss it. My husband is lucky enough be a shareholder in a successful pub/restaurant business, The Brass Monkey, near our home in Fourways - and I keep the books. Have marked this site as a "favourite" !! Jennifer McGregor (nee Thysse) : Inyanga 1960-1964; No great academic achiever although I enjoyed school, 1st Team Hockey, 1st Team swimming, 2nd Team Tennis; My career started at CABS in Bulawayo and after marriage to Campbell moved to Malawi where I worked for Standard Bank. I have no children, divorced and currently living in Durban working for the NBS (30 years service). I have run and walked the Comrades, played provincial hockey in both Matabeleland and Malawi. Jennifer McWade (nee Botton) : Kariba 1972-1976; School Swimming & Squash teams; Married in Byo in 1980, emigrated to Durban in 1981, where I worked as Manager of Rennies Travel until 1993 and then opened the Natal Branch of Galileo. Remained there until 1997 and was offered a job in Dublin, Ireland as General Manager for European Reservations Centre for Radisson, & Regent Hotels which I accepted and have been enjoying the Irish way of life since then. Have 2 children (Nick 20 and Hayley 18) both here with us in Ireland. My husband Garry McWade works for the Radisson St Helens Hotel, Dublin. Morag Magnussen (nee Innes) (Mogs) : Matopos 1963-1968; Prefect, House Captain, Hockey Captain -colours, Rhodesian Schools hockey. Team swimming, diving, squash, gymnastics - not netball ! No great academic achievements... ; Bsc.UED from University of Natal - played more hockey SAU need I say more !! Taught at Empangeni High School, then Mitchell Girls' High in Durban and lectured at Edgewood College of Education Pine Town. Played provincial hockey -1978 married Derek and moved to Cape Town - 2 daughters, Siubhan and Meghan. Joined Colleen (Sullivan ex-Byo - Eveline) to start PC payroll software company - Paywise - installing and teaching use of application-1995 to date, Joined Pick'n Pay as Payroll Systems manager. Margie Walker (nee Sayers) : Townsend 1961-1966;  I was a boarder in Townsend House, became a House and School prefect and did A levels at Milton. Don't think there was much academic recognition in my time but I did do fairly well academically;  attended Maritzburg Varsity after school and met my husband, Keith, there. Married and stayed on in Maritzburg where I taught at Epworth. Have two children, Susan (24) and Michael (21). When they were small I did an interior decorating course and Keith and I have run our own Interior Decorating business for the past 20 years in Hillcrest, Natal but recently relocated to Kloof. Have served as National President of The South African Guild of Interior Designers and remain on the executive committee. Got married to Rodney in 1973. Has my first son Michael in 1977 and Ryan in 1979. 1980 left Zims for Jhb. Lived there for 9 years working for my brother-in-law Ashleigh McNabb as the accountant. Then in 1991 left Jhb to join my sister Ann in Durban and have since opened up a Home Industry Shop at the La Lucia Mall. My eldest son Michael lives in the UK and Ryan at home. Dianne Wonacott (nee Lines) : From: ?-1959; Spent three years at Rhodesia Railways Ledger Office. Left Byo Sept 1962 to see the world.  Spent three years in London, took side trips to Europe. Moved to Toronto Oct 1965 and have been here ever since. Married a Canadian, have two children ages 34 and 29, have three grandchildren. Teach Philosophy and lecture in Canada and the U.S.A. One day I will return to Bulawayo. I still have my friend Clare Campbell (Munn) in Byo and we keep in touch. My sisters Mary, Patty and Susan who also attended Townsend High live in the U.K. Canada.
